But at the extremes — cold storage facilities, blast freezers, foundries, kilns, and cement plants — these limits are regularly exceeded, causing LCD failures, touch malfunctions, and premature component degradation.
In blast freezers and cold storage rooms operating at -18°C to -25°C, standard HMIs face two failure modes:
Extended-temperature HMIs use wide-temperature LCD panels with built-in heaters to maintain optimal operating temperature, and sealed enclosures to prevent condensation ingress.
Near furnaces, boilers, kilns, and in outdoor installations in India's summer conditions (ambient temperatures regularly exceeding 45°C), high-heat models are required. Look for:
